POSITIVE FUTURES
Positive Futures is a national project that uses sports and leisure activities to improve opportunities for young people who are at risk of offending or becoming involved in drugs or other issues. It aims to have a positive influence on young peoples lives by widening their horizons within their own communities and amongst friends. The programme recognises that improved sports and leisure activities can have a benefit for the whole community.
Through sport young people are encouraged to make decisions for themselves and to take self determined steps towards a positive future. Steering young people towards educational and employment opportunities is at the heart of the programmes agenda.
The programme is coordinated in Bridgend by the County Youth Service and is available within the communities of Caerau, Wildmill and Cornelly. There are only 2 Positive Futures projects operating
in Wales.
